Who are SSG Multisports?
SSG Multisports is an inclusive open-water swim and triathlon community around Suttons Beach / Redcliffe (Moreton Bay). We are community-first, supportive, and fun: friendships matter as much as racing, and we show up, say g'day, and do epic things together.
We are proud holders of the 2025 AusTriathlon Club Initiative of the Year award (Women in the Ocean), and we have also been recognised with the Queensland Club Initiative award. More on our awards: https://www.ssgmultisports.com.au/awards
For our backstory, see the History page on the website.

How can I be more involved?
Set up the marquee, bake a cake, help on race day, or simply say hello. Reach an Executive committee member face to face, or email suttonsswimgroup@gmail.com. Socials are welcome too.
Does SSG do other sports?
We do lots of sports — hence Multisports. There are ocean, dam, pool, and coached swims; TT, road, gravel, MTB, and group rides; road and trail running; plus the occasional SCUBA, squash, or Christmas lawn bowls. Call out what you're keen on — there's usually a Ninja up for it.
OWS etiquette — what should I know?
Keep it simple and safe:
- Swim with the group — Sunday Suttons Beach welcomes all abilities; experienced Ninjas are happy to swim alongside newbies.
- Tow float — bring and use a tow float for open-water sessions.
- Caps — wear a bright / visible swim cap so you're easy to spot.
- Buddying — look out for each other; stay aware of nearby swimmers and don't leave anyone behind.
- Conditions call-offs — follow swim-captain guidance; sessions can be shortened, moved, or called off if conditions aren't safe.
How does AusTri membership work for training?
For organised SSG training, including Sunday OWS, please use a current AusTri membership in an appropriate category. The 21 Day Club Passport ($0) or 8 Week Trial ($45) are friendly starting points for trying us. Basic is the usual next step for regular training; Standard and Premium suit Ninjas who also race. Social Membership ($49) is for non-training supporters.

How do I join SSG Multisports?
We'd love you as an SSG Ninja! Membership is through AusTriathlon / Triathlon Australia. Visit the join page and select SSG Multisports as your club:

Join up and dive into the fun.
Do I need to be a member to train with SSG?
Yes for organised club training — including Sunday open-water swims and other club sessions. That keeps everyone covered and keeps the vibe safe and fair.
If you're not a current AusTri / Triathlon Australia member yet, start with a 21 Day Club Passport ($0) or an 8 Week Trial ($45), then move to Basic (or higher) once you're training regularly.
Just want to cheer, volunteer, or hang with the crew without training? Social Membership is the one for you — great for supporters; it's not for training sessions.
New to Suttons Beach on a Sunday? Say g'day to a captain — they can help with the QR / join path so you're sorted before you jump in.
Can I just turn up to Sunday swim / training?
Organised sessions (Sunday OWS included) are for current AusTri members with SSG as their club. Trying us out? Use a 21 Day Club Passport or 8 Week Trial first, then Basic+ for regular training. Social is for non-training supporters. Captains can help with the QR at the beach.
