SSG Multisports is proud to have been named joint winner of the inaugural Club Initiative of the Year at the 2025 AusTriathlon Annual Awards, held on the Gold Coast.

This national award recognises outstanding club initiatives that strengthen the triathlon community. SSG Multisports received the honour for our Women in the Ocean program, which has empowered more than 50 women to build confidence and skills in open-water swimming. The program supports greater participation in triathlon while fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment.

The award also acknowledges the strong collaboration with Coach Paul Skelton from Fitsets, whose coaching and planning have been central to the program's success. In addition to the national recognition, the initiative previously won the Queensland Club Initiative of the Year.

We accepted the award with immense gratitude to every participant, volunteer, and supporter who has helped make Women in the Ocean such a positive force. This achievement reflects the club's strong swimming origins and our ongoing commitment to growing the sport through welcoming, community-focused programs.

Quote from the Awards Ceremony “Each year, the Awards remind us that sport is built on more than results, it’s built on people.” – Tim Harradine, AusTriathlon CEO
