Join us for the 8th Moreton Bay Swim, Greater Brisbane's only ocean swim, coming in 2027! Organised by SSG Multisports, this iconic event at Suttons Beach, Redcliffe, offers stunning coastal views and a vibrant community vibe. Whether you are a seasoned swimmer or a first-timer, choose from 5 km, 2.5 km, or 1 km distances. Mark your calendars for Sunday 7 February 2027!
DISTANCES: 1 km | 2.5 km | 5 km
AGES: 1 km and 2.5 km 14+; 5 km - 16+ (at event date).

5 km Swim: Brief at 7:15 AM, beach start at 7:30 AM. Two waves with a 5-minute gap. Minimum age: 16. Time limit: 2.5 hours.
• 2.5 km Swim: Brief at 7:50 AM, beach start at 8:00 AM. Two waves with a 5-minute gap. Minimum age: 14. Time limit: 1.5 hours.
• 1 km Swim: Brief at 8:20 AM, beach start at 8:30 AM. Two waves with a 5-minute gap. Minimum age: 14. Time limit: 1 hour.
All courses finish at Suttons Beach for a thrilling spectator experience.

Safety First
Safety is our top priority, with Redcliffe Peninsula Surf Life Saving lifeguards patrolling IRBs, jet skis, and rescue boards.
Key rules include:
Mandatory swim cap and pre-race briefing attendance.
• No wetsuits or buoyancy-aid devices. Goggles, event swim cap, nose clip and earplugs are allowed.
• Age limits: 1 km and 2.5 km - 14+; 5 km - 16+ (at event date).
• Signal for help by raising one arm or rolling onto your back.
• Follow the prescribed course to avoid disqualification.
• Weather-related changes communicated promptly.
Swimmers assume ocean swimming risks and should be physically prepared. Lifeguards may remove participants if safety is compromised.

Fees (all-in): Early bird $45/$55/$65 - Standard $50/$60/$70 - Late $55/$65/$75 (1 / 2.5 / 5 km).
Early bird ends end of day Sunday 13 December 2026 (T-8). Open date and later cut-offs TBC. 2027 registrations will open later in 2026.

Event History
From 9 SSG swimmers in 2020 to about 400 in 2022 and about 300 in 2025, the Moreton Bay Swim has grown into a community favourite. Once the Australia Day Swim and later the Pavilion Swim, it is now a Redcliffe ocean classic, with support from a Moreton Bay Council grant and our event partners.
