A Word From The President: July 2026

It is my pleasure to present the President’s Report for the past year on behalf of SSG Multisports.
The past 12 months have been another successful year for our club. SSG continues to grow, not only in membership but also in the strength of our community, culture, and reputation within the wider triathlon and swimming communities.
Throughout the year, our members have represented SSG at events ranging from local races to Ironman, national championships, and international competitions. While these achievements are impressive, what stands out most is the support, encouragement, and friendships that continue to define our club.
One of the highlights of the year has been the strength of our swim community. Sunday morning swims continue to attract large numbers of members, creating a welcoming environment for swimmers of all abilities. It has also been fantastic to see so many SSG members participating in local open water swimming events, proudly representing our club.
The Moreton Bay Swim was once again a successful event and remains an important part of our club calendar. We are also pleased to have secured a $5,000 grant to support the future delivery of the 2027 Moreton Bay Swim.
Our Women in the Ocean program continues to thrive, providing a safe and supportive pathway for women to build confidence in the ocean. Thanks to support through an Australia Post grant, we will be able to continue growing this valuable program and creating opportunities for more women to get involved.
The club was honoured this year to receive the Queensland Club Initiative of the Year award, recognising the dedication of our volunteers and the positive impact of our programs within the community.
None of this would be possible without our committee, volunteers, coaches, and members. Thank you to everyone who contributes their time, energy, and expertise to make SSG the club it is today. A special thank you to Coach Paul for his leadership and ongoing support of our athletes.
Most importantly, thank you to our members. SSG is more than a triathlon club. It is a community built on friendship, encouragement, and a shared passion for sport.
As we look ahead, we remain committed to growing participation, supporting athletes of all abilities, and maintaining the welcoming culture that makes SSG such a special place to belong. Thank you for another fantastic year, and I look forward to what we can achieve together in the year ahead.
