November 2025 - A Word From The President

The last few months have been huge for SSG as our members kicked off the triathlon season with a bang. We’ve had athletes represented at the World Triathlon Championships, World 70.3, and a massive crew taking on the Hervey Bay Hundy Festival. The atmosphere, morale, and team spirit have been incredible — it’s moments like these that remind us what makes our club so special.

Behind the scenes, we’ve also been working hard to bring new energy to our club gear. Our fresh merch drops, updated tri suits, and limited-release pink training gear have been a hit — and we’re excited to keep offering gear that our members are proud to wear.

One of our biggest highlights is that Moreton Bay Swim 2026 is now locked in and entries are officially open! This event is so important to us — not only because it showcases the beauty of Suttons Beach, but because it brings together our swimmers, our club, and the wider community.

I want to encourage our members to enter.

Maybe this is the year you:

• challenge yourself to swim a little faster,

• go a little further, or

• invite a family member, friend, or colleague to join you.

There is

nothing more powerful than seeing our own members out there with the swim community — and we would love to see an SSG presence on the start line.

We have also been invited to feature on a Channel 7 Moreton Bay segment, which is incredibly exciting. SSG is truly becoming recognised within our region — we are becoming the face of ocean swimming in Redcliffe and Moreton Bay. What an accomplishment.

These past months have also seen a large number of Brisbane triathlon clubs joining us for our Sunday swims. I cannot express how proud I am of our swimmers for welcoming them so openly. Some Sundays, I look around at the number of people standing on the sand and I have to pinch myself. Something special is happening here — and I’m grateful to be part of it with all of you.
