In a thrilling showcase of endurance and spirit, SSG Multisports members represented Australia with distinction at the 2025 World Triathlon Age-Group Championships in Wollongong from October 15-19. Held on home soil, the event drew over 4,000 athletes from
60 nations, with Australia dominating the medal tally across sprint triathlon, standard triathlon, aquabike, and mixed relays. Our Ninjas, true to our swim group origins, tackled challenging ocean swims, technical bike courses, and windy runs, earning top finishes and embodying the club's inclusive, supportive ethos.
Nine SSG athletes qualified and competed, contributing to Australia's haul of 182 medals (including 48 golds). Highlights included strong individual SSG Stars at Wollongong Worlds 2025 performances and relay podiums, with many sharing inspiring race reports on social media.
The Wollongong podium buzzed with Australian success, including SSG contributions to the medal count.

Sharni Speranza reflected on her 10th-place sprint finish: "The swim was rough, the bike technical, and the run windy and uphill. But I absolutely loved it... Finished 10th. Thanks to mum Leanne for watching and Andy for holding the fort."
Cynthia Cliff's dual success included a 7th in sprint and relay bronze: "Watts a difference Shiloh’s coaching makes," she posted, crediting her coach.
Harmony Ross celebrated her 7th in aquabike: "What a way to wrap up my 2025 race season... Grateful to share it with training partners and inspiring athletes."
Tamara McCombe, racing her last for Great Britain before switching to Australia, placed 25th in standard:
"My last Age Group Triathlon World Championship for GBR... Next year, I’ll try qualifying to race in Green & Gold."

President Jodie Brighton shared a heartfelt moment: "The best part was sharing the experience with my dad Michael Pronger. Watching him smash a top 10 finish at his first Worlds... Pretty special." Amy Parikka and Elisa Kennerley also shone in relays, with Amy earning silver and Elisa a strong 13th.
These results highlight SSG's depth, from ocean swims at Suttons Beach to global stages. As a club proud
of our swim roots, we're inspired by the camaraderie and grit shown. Congratulations, Ninjas!
